"Send as" rignt on a Dynamic Distribution Group
Hi all,
I try to send mails as a Dynamic Distribution Group. But in EMC or AD console, I don't find this rignt.
Here the rignts I see :
Full control (Although checked, not sufficient) Read Write Read Exchange Information Write Exchange Information Read Exchange Personal Information Write Exchange Personal Information Special Permission
Of course, every time I changed rignts attribution, I rebooted the "Exchange - Information Store" service.
Anyone know how to do it?
Thanks. Have a good week all.

In Exchange Management Shell > Add-ADPermission -Identity <your dynamic distribution group> -ExtendedRights "Send-As" -User <your user to grant rights to>
BTW; You do not have to restart anything as Exchange picks up the added permissions automatically.

Hello Jesper and thank you for your answer.
After I entered the command line, I verified user has the permission Send-As, and it's OK. But when I try to send a mail as the dynamic group, I still obtain an error message indicates the user doesn't have the permission to send as.
Would be there an other permission necessary to do this ?
Thanks. FXE

Hi,
Here is an alternative. Create a group and give Send On Behalf of the DynamicDistributionGroup permission to the new group. Add the user to the new group and
'Send-As' will work for the user.

Nope. It should work just fine. Tried it out in my lab just to make sure, and all woked as expected.Jesper Bernle | Blog: http://xchangeserver.wordpress.com

Damned !
I don't know why it's not working properly... In Outlook, in the Send as field, I entered the mail address of the account. Is it correct ? Or would I enter the alias or something else ?
ManU, the group you propose to create, what type will have to be ?
Thanks.FXE

Yes, the latency can be caused by Exchange caching, Outlook being in cached mode or Outlook just not behaving correctly. Try creating a new outlook profile.James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

Ah, sorry, might be just that. I´m always running my Outlook in Online mode in my lab to see instant changes.Jesper Bernle | Blog: http://xchangeserver.wordpress.com

Hello all,
I found what was bad : in the send as field in a brand new mail in Outlook, I entered the mail address of the DDG. It's not the good method. In fact, I have to click on the send as button in order to find the DDG in the Global Access List !
Thank you for your help, and I wish you good luck.
Have a good day.FXE

Hi all,
In fact, my problem is not resolved. I only tested send a message as the DDG to me, but not to another else.
So, To: me, it's OK, but when I try to send as DDG to anyone, I still get the error message indicates the recepient have not the permissions requiered...
Strange, it's about recepient permissions !
Some ideas ?
Thanks.
See you.FXE

Erf !
Finally it's solved ! Outlook (or Exchange) imposes select DDG from GAL for every mail created... Select DDG address from the "Send as" button history will result the error message and the mail never be delivered.
A little MS update for this ? I'm dreaming no ? ;-)
Have a nice afternoon !FXE
